The Centre for Cellular and Molecular Platforms (C-CAMP), India’s premier life science/healthcare technology and innovation hub, is selected for ‘Scale-up Support’ under the Niti Ayog’s Atal Innovation Mission.
The scheme is aimed at transforming established incubation centres to global standards. The bio-incubator has in the last few years emerged as a thriving hub for innovation and a vibrant ecosystem, where it has supported over 70 innovative biotech-life science start-ups through seed funding, bio-incubation and mentorship.
The others include TREC STEP Tiruchirapalli Regional Engineering College, Science and Technology Park in Tamil Nadu Ninety One Springboard Group, Delhi, Amrita Technology Business Incubator, Kollam, Kerala, Access Livelihoods Consulting India, Hyderabad and NSRCEL in Bengaluru.
“There is a need to have careful nurturing of Healthcare, Life Science innovators, start-ups and C-CAMP is delighted at this recognition and support from Niti Aayog AIM. We are ideally placed in Bangalore LifeScience Cluster, along with NCBS and inStem, integration into very strong academic scientific environment”, said C-CAMP Director and COO, Dr. Taslimarif Saiyed.
“This support will enable C-CAMP’s BioIncubator to scale-up its efforts toward building a world-class innovation incubation hub for healthcare and lifescience start-ups,” he added.
