CallHealth plans to expand operation in metro cities by 2017

Headquartered in Hyderabad, Telangana, CallHealth, an integrated healthcare solution provider that brings personalized solutions to the doorstep of the customer, is embarking expansion with plan to commence operation in metro cities including Delhi, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Bengaluru by the end of this year.

The healthcare startup launched by former Satyam Computer Services chairman B Ramalinga Raju's daughter-in-law Sandhya Raju in October 2016 has forayed into Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada, Guntur, Rajahmundry, Nellore, Kurnool, Warangal and Tirupati cities in Telangana. The company adopted a hub and spoke model, with tier 1 city in Telangana acting as the hub and other urban towns as the spoke to enable optimization of delivery resources and will have presence in metro cities in the country by 2017, informed Dr. Sameer Khan, Chief of Business, CallHealth.

Today customers seeking quality healthcare are forced to run pillar to post in fragmented healthcare market. Our aim is to bring all healthcare services near to users at affordable rate ranging from doctor consultation in 25 specialties, second opinion, family physician, emotional wellness, diagnostics, nursing services, physiotherapy at users' doorstep, aiding patients to avail hospital services, drug delivery, advanced care at home wherein we offer home monitoring of chronic ailments, palliative care. We offer both virtual and physical healthcare interventions to customers. We also forayed into medical tourism. So far 50 people benefited from our medical tourism service, he opined.

The healthcare startup has partnered with seventy NABH accredited hospitals in Hyderabad and has 7,000+ associates comprising of doctors, paramedics, clinics, yoga providers, diagnostics, drug stores on its board in Telangana.

Cases of internal medicine, gynecology, orthopaedics, dermatology, cardiology are driving maximum consultations on the CallHealth platfom. Besides this, family physician consultation also constitutes a major chunk of consultation taking place on the platform.

Talking about gender trends accessing CallHealth platform, he said "In country like India where women are lagging behind access to healthcare we have witnessed reverse trend on our platform. Our 53 per cent users are women as against 47 per cent men users."

Due to the shortage of skilled allied healthcare professionals in the country, getting them on board is a herculean task. For this, the company has come up with training programme called CallHealth Academy for Medical Pioneers and Innovation (CHAMPIONS) in collaboration with Telangana Academy for Skill and Knowledge to train people having little or no experience to provide healthcare services at the patient's doorstep. The two-month long programme comprises of both classroom and practical training. It also helps upgrade the skills of experienced healthcare professionals through advanced learning programmes. We are investing in upskilling people and get them employed within same geographies, said Dr Khan.

About 44 out of first batch of 50 pass-outs were employed by the company and rest got placement in other healthcare units.

Sharing his vision for 2020, Dr Khan, said that by 2020 we would cover all urban centres in the country reaching out to 40 crore population. Data and information will drive our growth. We would be stepped into predictive healthcare by then. This will enable users to control their health through use of data. Digitised data on our platform can be used to look at trends of diseases in geographical areas leading to artificial intelligence which will be used for predictive analysis.
