The Indian Pharmaceutical Association (IPA) is organising the Technical Conference 2017 at Indore in Madhay Pradesh in association with the IPA Madhya Pradesh State Branch and Industrial Pharmacy Division on March 25, 2017.

The theme of the event is Quality Metrics: Future need of the Pharmaceutical Industry for marketing drug products in the US. The key objective of the seminar is to improve the practice and reporting of quality metrics to the US FDA. Small to medium scale entrepreneurs and academicians are expected to understand the requirements of quality metrics and voluntarily start the practice of the same.

According to the organisers, quality metrics are used through the drugs and biologics industry to monitor quality control systems and processes. This is to drive continuous improvement efforts in drug manufacturing. These metrics are also useful to FDA to develop compliance and inspection procedures and practices such as risk-based inspection scheduling of drug manufacturers, to improve the Agency’s ability to predict and therefore possibly mitigate, future drug shortages and to encourage the pharma industry to implement the advanced innovative quality management systems for pharmaceutical manufacturing.

Present on the occasion will be Sanjay Jain, president, Indian Pharmaceutical Association MP State Branch; and Anil Kharia, general secretary, Indian Pharmaceutical Association MP State Branch and vice president, Industry Pharmacy Division.

The day-long session will have six topics. The speakers will include Sanjit Singh Lamba, managing director, Eisai Pharmaceuticals; Vijay Kshirsagar, director, TRAC Consulting; Dr. Sanjay Kapadia, president, corporate quality assurance, IPCA Laboratories; Sanjay Tiwari, vice president, Sun Pharmaceuticals; Sanjay Sinha, president, formulation, IPCA Laboratories; and Shantanau Chobhe, associate director, Quality, Abbot Healthcare.
