The survival rate post-transplant is around 95 percent in the first year and 92 percent in the third year. The survival has improved with better surgical techniques and judicious use of immunosuppression. Ours is the only center in the city performing laparoscopic donor nephrectomy which means small surgical cuts, less pain and faster recovery of the donor. Also, we are one of the few centers in the country performing blood group incompatible kidney transplants.
Manpreet Sohal, Regional CEO, Global Hospitals, said, “It is our continuous endeavour to provide quality tertiary care to our patients. Through such achievements, we aim to raise the benchmark even higher by reducing the barriers between the respective patients and the doctors. We are the dominant spot for transplantations and through our experts and state of the art infrastructure facility; we look forward to contributing and improving the state of healthcare sector in the country.”
A kidney transplant patient needs to religiously follow the regular medication to lead a healthy life. It has been observed that post-transplant, nearly 94 percent patients turn up for regular check-ups and 93 per cent patients have reported to fruitfully get back to their routine.
