Curofy, a networking platform that allows case discussions between doctors and provides them with latest medical news, with continuous feedback from the community and gauging the need for their audience, has launched it’s web platform to give their users a complete and richer experience. Functioning as an extension of its mobile based app, it connects the phone to the computer and syncs the user’s activity.
Curofy incepted in 2015, apart from networking, allows doctors to keep them up-to-date with the jobs in the healthcare industry. Curofy has grown in the last 15 months from 8,000 doctors to 200,000+ doctors from across more than 1,200 towns and cities. It is growing 20 percent month-on-month in terms of new users registering on the app. The app now has about 100,000 monthly active users who spend more than 35 million minutes on the app, discussing more than 10,000 new cases, every month.
Desktops are still an integral part of daily existence. Curofy took feedback from its tops users and found 3 out of 5 doctors wanted to use their app on desktops or laptops. This can be attributed to the fact that most of the cases posted by doctors require detailed history to reach an informed diagnosis. Typing long cases on mobile phones with small becomes an arduous task and strain the eyes. Moreover, distractions on phone in the form of messages and calls would be cancelled out with the web platform.
A large portion of Curofy user base is young doctors who are nimble fingered with smartphones. With the web platform, the platform is also looking to reach out to the older demographic who are not well adept at using mobile apps. These users will now have an ease of access and be able to use Curofy on the device of their choice.
Clinical images and case reports are an important part of any clinical case discussion. They convey the clinical presentation and underlying health metrics of the patient which help other physicians in suggesting a better treatment plan. The web platform will ensure that doctors don’t have to zoom in on every image and will be able to visualize them in one go.
Talking about their new feature, Pawan Gupta, co-founder, Curofy said, “Around 40% that is 80,000 users check our emails regularly on their desktop but had to switch device to access the app. Web platform will give our users a seamless experience.”
