The international ayurvedic conference and expo, ‘MAICE 2017’, to be held in Sharjah from May 19 to 20 is expected to have an impressive footfall of more than 3000 visitors including nationals from all the Arab countries and north Africa, sources from the organizing committee informed Pharmabiz.
They said the event will facilitate the Indian community residing in the UAE to avail all kinds of medical and treatment facilities at the exhibition site, besides accessing to medicinal preparations of all kinds made by popular manufacturers in India.
According to them, the aim of the Middle East and North Africa International Conference and Expo (MAICE) is to propagate and promote the traditional ayurvedic science in the Arab region with the combined effort of all the members of the fraternity. The two days programme is organised by Emirates Ayurveda Graduates Association (EAGA), an association of 150 Ayurveda physicians, entrepreneurs, para-medical staffs and medical distributors.
Preparations for the Expo-cum-Seminar are in full swing with the round the clock efforts of the EAGA members, said Rose George, convener of the event.
Dr P Madhavankutty Varier, additional chief physician & chief superintendent at Kottakkal Arya Vaidya Sala will deliver the keynote address on the subject, ‘ Ayurveda–a global perspective’, on May 19.
Rose further shared the information that in order to prop up the international expo, about ten companies and a few institutions have already registered as participants. Besides, ten small and medium ayurvedic hospitals and resorts from Kerala have registered their names with the organisers. She said an exhibition of this segment is the first of its kind in the Arab countries and hopes that it will serve a platform for the participating institutions to feature authentic services and products. They will also ensure the availability of medicines and services for the people in the UAE and in India. Further, this will encourage and promote ayurvedic tourism in India.
Visitors planning to attend the event are registering through various ayurvedic centres in UAE. Online registration was opened one month earlier and it is progressing. Massive campaigns through social media and other organisational networks are being carried out by the members of EAGA.
Ayurveda medical associations and hospital associations from India will send their delegates to the programme, sources said.
