The south India’s renowned pharma trade fair, Pharmac South 2017, which will be held in Chennai Trade Centre on the 7th and 8th of July this year, seeks to provide more than just maximum exposure and market for south Indian pharmaceutical, neutraceutical and Ayush products, sources informed.
The exhibition and seminars will see a confluence of top players of Indian pharma industry and marketing leaders from foreign countries as well as thousands of unique visitors from all over India.
Sources from the organizing committee have reported that over one hundred pharma and neutraceutical companies in the SME sector in southern states have agreed to display their innovative products and latest technologies at the trade show. The organisers hope that this year’s Pharmac South expo will provide ample scope for domestic buyers as well as professionals to interact with the manufacturers of south India states.
While briefing Pharmabiz, M Rajaratinam, chairman of the organizing committee informed that this year’s expo would help the south Indian pharma industry to increase their production potential and thereby to achieve markets for their products in north Indian states and in foreign countries. According to him, the total share of pharmaceutical production in the south Indian states of Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Kerala is only four percent, and it needs to be increased to 10 percent in the near future. The start-ups and growing companies in south India will also get opportunities for exports.
Unlike in previous years, this time participation in the buyer-seller meet will be given only to those who put stalls in the exhibition. Rajaratinam said the organizing committee wants to raise the number of stalls in order to attract more potential visitors. Special prominence is given to Ayurveda and Siddha in the Ayush sector and companies manufacturing traditional medicines in Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Karnataka are also invited to participate in the two days trade expo.
Commenting on the preparations, the chairman of TN IDMA, J Jayaseelan, said the theme of this year’s Pharmac South is, ‘Challenges & Opportunities for Start-ups and Growing companies’. In the two days programs, eight seminars on relevant topics focusing business developments in domestic and international markets will be conducted along with the show.
