Bio-Techne, a leading developer and manufacturer of high quality purified proteins, has announced that the company introduced reagents and kits from Vector Laboratories, a leader in advanced labeling and detection solutions. Vector's innovative proprietary immunolabeling kits offer reliable, sensitive, and low background detection.
In October 2017, Bio-Techne started distributing Vector Laboratories' flagship products to complement its vast selection of Novus Biologicals primary antibodies, including over 13,000 monoclonal- and over 36,000 polyclonal-antibodies, validated for immunohistochemistry or immunocytochemistry. By combining Novus Biologicals primary antibodies with secondary detection reagents from Vector Laboratories, researchers have access to powerful tools to achieve clear and crisp immunostaining.
Several reagents from Vector Laboratories are currently available at novusbio.com for distribution within the continental United States including:
Mouse on Mouse (M.O.M.) Kits: M.O.M. reagents facilitate the detection of mouse primary antibodies on mouse tissue. The combined use of the proprietary blocking and polymer anti-IgG reagents included in the kit results in specific, clear, and robust detection, eliminating background signals usually associated with the detection of endogenous mouse antibodies.
Vectastain ABC Kits: This avidin/biotin-based immunoperoxidase system provides robust detection and has become a standard within the research community. For immunohistochemistry and immunocytochemistry applications, this kit provides high sensitivity and low background.
ImmPRESS Anti-IgG Polymer Detection Kits: These enzyme polymer anti-IgG kits allow a one-step, avidin-biotin free approach to immunohistochemistry and immunocytochemistry applications. Vector Laboratories' highly adsorbed secondary antibodies are linked to alkaline phosphatase or peroxidase micropolymers via a proprietary chemistry that reduces steric hindrance, allowing improved access to antigens in all cellular locations and no interference from endogenous biotin.
Vectashield Mounting Media: Vectashield media stabilizes samples following immunostaining, preventing photobleaching of fluorescently-labeled proteins and fluorescent dyes.
In a recent Biocompare review, Kaveri Arora, a PhD candidate at the SUNY Downstate Medical Center, Department of Cell Biology, praised Vector Labs' ImmPress HRP Anti-IgG Polymer Detection Kit: "This kit is the easiest way to do IHC, works very well with mouse tissues and generates high quality results."
Bio-Techne Corporation is a leading developer and manufacturer of high quality purified proteins––notably cytokines and growth factors, antibodies, immunoassays, as well as biologically active small molecule compounds and ACD's in situ hybridization detection products --- which are sold to biomedical researchers and clinical research laboratories; these operations constitute the core Biotechnology Division, headquartered in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
