Jaipur-based MeraPatient, a single aggregator app connecting users with chemists and diagnostic laboratories, will be expanded pan India to 10 cities by 2019 with an investment of Rs.20 crore.
Rs.20 crore will be raised by Manish Mehta, founder and CEO of MeraPatient over the next three months to fund the expansion plan. Currently Mehta is in talks with venture capitalists to raise the fund. In the first phase the app will be launched in 10 cities including Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad and Pune, Mehta said.
MeraPatient is a breakthrough initiative in the healthcare industry. With the nation-wide network of certified chemists shops and diagnostic centres, MeraPatient app creates a demand and supply situation on the smartphone screen that empowers users to buy medicines and conduct tests at diagnostic labs as per the choice, he added.
With e-pharmacies coming up in a big way in the country, chemists are facing risk of losing business. MeraPatient app is empowering chemists to take on internet pharmacy by helping them reach out to users and serve them at their doorstep, opined Mehta.
A user of MeraPatient app can search the nearby authenticated chemist shops and diagnostic labs with the help of GPS tracker. User simply has to upload the prescription on the app and will have to see offers from the nearby chemists or laboratories and buy medicines or book the appointment for the tests. On the other side, certified chemists and diagnostic labs get alerts on the demand from the users and they have to offer a combination of availability, price-discounts and home delivery options.
Depending on the choice and convenience, user may choose the option and avail the offer. Additionally, user can find the path through GPS location of the chemist or a lab, in case user needs to reach to their location and vice-versa in case chemist or lab wants to reach to the user. Diagnostic labs can also opt for an additional option where they can easily upload the test reports of the user for hassle free access, hence contributing to environment going green.
Besides this, a revolutionary panic button given in the MeraPatient app provides a chance to overcome to the users in trouble or in panic situation. User can just ‘slide to panic’ and can alert to his/her prefill family/friend’s contact numbers. By sliding the panic button not only the alert goes to those five numbers but it also gives the location of the person in the trouble/panic. The best part is the alert sound is audible even if the phones are on vibration, so the family and friends can hear and respond immediately.
Launched in August 2017, MeraPatient app has around 3000 users in Jaipur. Around 500 vendors including both chemists and path labs have registered with the app which can be downloaded from Google Play Store for free.
