Pharmazz, Inc., a privately-held company engaged in the development of novel products in the area of critical care medicine, announced that Notice of Allowance has been issued for Canadian Patent Application No. 2696398 titled "Methods for treatment of stroke or cerebrovascular accidents using an ET-B receptor agonist." PMZ-1620, a selective endothelin-B receptor agonist, is in clinical phase II trials in patients suffering from cerebral ischemia (stroke) and mild to moderate Alzheimer's disease.
The company also announced that another Notice of Allowance has been issued for Canadian Patent Application No. 2759791 titled "Novel therapeutic treatments using centhaquin." PMZ-2010 (centhaquin) is advanced stages of clinical phase II trial in patients with hypovolemic shock. The company expects to have interim results before June 2018.
