Apollo announces concessional healthcare package for poor to mark completion of 2 decades of service

To mark the completion of two decades of world-class healthcare service, Apollo Hospitals has announced a concessional healthcare package for the poor, government employees, teachers, ex-servicemen and the senior citizens. According to a press release issued by the hospital, Apollo Hyderabad and Visakhapatnam would provide subsidized healthcare package on major surgeries and diagnosis for one month, starting from October 10. The press release said, " As we commence our 20th year of service, we are pleased to offer subsidized healthcare packages for those who need them the most - lower income group people (white card holders), state government employees and teachers (both working and retired), ex-servicemen, senior citizens (above 60 years) and those with a monthly family income below Rs 3,000, including small farmers and self-employed, by producing income certificates. These subsidized packages will be available for a month from October10 to November10, 2002. The subsidies are being provided with contributions from the consultants and the hospital as a goodwill gesture." Surgeries and diagnosis with subsidized tariff rates in the package include Coronary Angiography costing Rs 7,500, Coronary Artery Bypass Rs 85,000, Coronary Angioplasty Rs 35,000, Laminectomy (lumbar) Rs 15,000, Laminectomy (cervical) Rs 25,000, Laproscopic Cholecystectomy Rs 9,000 and Transurenthral Resection of Prostrate Rs 10,000.
