Gentra Systems Inc announced that its Puregene DNA Purification Kits will be supplied to Sequenom Inc to address the sample preparation requirements for customers of Sequenom's MassARRAY technology, including Sequenom's newly introduced Allelotyping product line. The Allelotyping product was developed to rapidly analyze genetic variations, or SNPs, across large DNA pools that combine up to 500 individual samples. The product is being offered as an application module to existing and new users of MassARRAY systems, Sequenom's high performance genotyping platform. "Many of our existing Puregene customers are involved in SNP studies and other population-based studies," explains Ruth Shuman, President and CEO of Gentra. "Our nucleic acid purification expertise fits well with Sequenom's expertise in analysis." The synergy between the quality and performance of Puregene-purified DNA with the high-throughput performance of the Sequenom MassARRAY system addresses the critical need of large-scale genetic studies. Puregene-purified DNA is well known for its quality, and has over ten years of solid stability data showing consistent, reliable performance in leading clinical and clinical research laboratories around the world. In addition to unparalleled DNA stability, Puregene delivers high molecular weight DNA and consistently high DNA yields.
