Suven Pharmaceuticals Limited has decided to collaborate with the Bombay College of Pharmacy and actively participate in running of the governing council of Academy for Clinical Excellence (ACE). The Academy is one of the pioneering clinical research education and training institution in India and is the outcome of collaboration between the Bombay College of Pharmacy, Pfizer Limited, Mumbai, and Suven Pharmaceuticals Limited, Hyderabad. Clinical research constitute a very important phase of new drug discovery and development as they provide the most valuable proof of concept for a new drug as well as critical information about the new drug's safety and tolerability in human subjects. The vast population of India and their huge disease burden makes India today the prime location for clinical research. Nevertheless, there is a great need to upgrade Indian clinical research with more stringent guidelines to make the research compliant with international norms such as ICH-GCP regulations. The main objective of ACE is to provide an independent global framework in education, training and exchange of information for clinical research professionals and to foster professional excellence in design and execution of clinical research, thereby contributing to enhancing the clinical research culture in India.
