The Department of Endocrinology, Osmania General Hospital, will celebrate the World Diabetes Day on November 14. The Day is observed on the birthday of Banting, who discovered insulin in 1921.
A variety of programme and free check-up will be organized between 9 am and 1 pm on the day. According to Dr G Chandra Sekhara Reddy, Head, Dept of Endocrinology, a free clinical check-up, free blood sugar instant testing, free distribution of medicines, slide and video shows, free distribution of educational materials, diet counselling and exhibition, risk assessment etc will mark the occasion.
A free consultation for diabetics will be organised at CDR Hospitals, Hyderguda, on the day. Blood sugar and urine tests will be done at concessional rates.
Suraksha Diabetes Centre will celebrate the day with free consultation by eminent diabetologist Dr Lily Rodrigues along with a team of specialists.
