Rising Medical Device in the eastern Chinese province of Zhejiang, has developed a testing system that detects tumour abnormal protein (TAP), to help diagnose cancer during its early stages. When provided with a drop of blood, the TAP Testing System is able to analyse whether the testee has the TAP created by the metabolism of the cancer cells. It is able to provide cell diagnostics up to three years before terminal cancer is formed, or before any clinical symptoms appear. "Cancer is the biggest killer of human life today," said Hua Yeyu, vice president of Rising Medical Device."By introducing our product, we hope that we can prevent this disease and contribute positively to a more effective healing." The TAP Testing System, based on technology introduced to China in 1997, is a result of efforts between China and the Ukraine. It was approved by China's State Drug Administration (SDA) for testing, under the brand name Rising, in January 2001.And it has since been implemented by more than 20 hospitals in the municipalities of Shanghai, Beijing and Chongqing, as well as the provinces of Shandong, Zhejiang and Guangdong. In December 2002, the TAP Testing System will formally be available on the market when it receives the People's Republic of China Registration Certificate for Medical Devices.
