PDI Inc and PharmaNetics Inc have signed an agreement under which PDI will provide a sales team and post sales clinical support for PharmaNetics' new ENOX Test. The ENOX Test is the first rapid, point-of-care test to be cleared in the U.S. to detect the anticoagulant effects of enoxaparin sodium.
"The deployment of both a sales force and a team of clinical specialists illustrates PDI's ability to offer a broad spectrum of commercialisation capabilities for new, exciting technologies like the ENOX Test. PDI Medical Devices and Diagnostics' (PDI MD&D) ability to offer integrated solutions was instrumental in PharmaNetics' decision to partner with PDI. We are pleased to work with PharmaNetics to bring this innovative technology to physicians for reliable, onsight monitoring of Lovenox use in their angioplasty patients," said Lloyd Fishman, Executive VP and General Manager of PDI MD&D.
PharmaNetics recently received FDA approval to market the ENOX Test, which was exclusively developed for enoxaparin among the low molecular weight heparin class. This is PharmaNetics' first theranostic test to be launched and is currently the subject of an expanded clinical trial, ELECT (Evaluating Enoxaparin Clotting Times).
"We believe that the synergy between an excellent sales team and highly skilled clinical technicians is necessary when introducing new technology like the ENOX Test. PDI MD&D offers the expertise and experience to maximize the ENOX Test's introduction to the market," said Michael Riddle, Executive Vice President, Marketing, Sales and New Business Development.
PDI's MD&D business unit includes over 1,000 professionals and provides commercial solutions to the Medical Devices and Diagnostics industry. PDI is the only commercialization partner to have a unit dedicated to this market sector, enabling it to better understand the challenges facing medical device and diagnostic companies.
