Sadhu Waswani Medical Complex to open charitable heart institute

Under the technical guidance of Delhi based Escort Heart Institute, Sadhu Waswani Medical Complex would soon open a charitable heart institute in Pune in the first quarter of this year. The institute stands adjacent to the Inlaks and Budhrani Cancer Hospital. Explains S. G. Menghani, director, projects, "We have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Escorts under which they would be our advisor and consultant on various technical, administration and management aspects related to the institute." The various aspects can be listed as - the infrastructure of the institute, departments to be opened, recruitment of the personnel, and installation of the equipment. The present investment in the first phase is pegged at around Rs. 15 crore and the total investment is estimated to go as high as Rs. 18 crore or more, inclusive of the phase second. The six-floor institute sprawled over 25,000 sq.ft of area would see more upgradation and sophistication in terms of infrastructure in phase two, reveals Menghani. The institute boasts of having state-of -the -art equipment. "The capacity of the institute is 30 beds out of which 10 per cent would be reserved for poor patients for free treatment." The institute is tentatively baptized as Baba Gangaram Escort Heart Institute, after the name of the ex-chairman of the Sadhu Waswani Mission. "The final name would depend on the name of the donor,'' adds Menghani.
