Bilcare, the pharma packaging division the Pune-based Bi Limited, has signed technology collaboration with PRS Permacel for providing anti-counterfeiting solutions to the pharmaceutical packaging.
Permacel, an erstwhile division of the multinational company Johnson & Johnson and currently owned by the Mumbai based Premchand Roychand and Sons with the title PRS Permacel, offers customised solutions for varied needs of labels and tapes. The company has a state of the art manufacturing plant in Mumbai, supported by a large R&D facility.
According to Praful K Naik, president, Bilcare, the company is trying to workout measures to combat the counterfeiting menace and novel ideas have been arrived upon in this direction. "One of the major steps in this direction is collaborating with PRS Permacel, which is now world leaders in providing anti-counterfeiting solutions in automobiles and FMCG segment," he said.
Bilcare has also signed a secrecy agreement with Pune-based National Chemical Laboratories (NCL) for finding end-to-end packaging solutions, a marketing agreement with Germany-based Sanner, a major player in application, closure and container systems for pharmaceutical and medical technologies and with Precision Gears, a division of IMA of Italy, to fulfil the equipment requirement and appropriate hardware solutions. Also technical and marketing tie-ups have been made with Sama, he added.
Bilcare is an Rs 106.07 crore-turnover company with operations spread across India, Indonesia and Singapore. The company currently supplies innovative range of packaging products to over 500 reputed companies.
