AcroMetrix Corporation have signed an exclusive agreement with Nabi Biopharmaceuticals (Boca Raton, FL) to offer ViroSure quality control products for infectious disease testing to clinical laboratories and blood screening organizations. The critical nature of infectious disease testing demands that all testing parameters be carefully monitored. These quality control products, which are designed for use with immunoassay techniques, will help the laboratory detect testing errors before the results are reported to the physician.
Under the terms of the agreement, Nabi Biopharmaceuticals will develop and manufacture the products while AcroMetrix will focus on marketing and distribution. This alliance combines AcroMetrix's experience in quality control products with Nabi Biopharmaceuticals' expertise in the development and manufacture of infectious disease diagnostic products. The Agreement will enable AcroMetrix to broaden its infectious disease quality control product offerings for the clinical laboratory and blood screening organizations, while allowing Nabi Biopharmaceuticals to capitalize on the plasma that the company currently collects.
