The Pune-based Sanjeevan Herbal Research Institute, is shortly going to make 'Sanjeevan Prakrutik Chikitsa' an ancient Indian therapy of treatment easily accessible to the common man. Speaking to the media persons Director of the Institute, Dr. Arun Paranjape, informed that the therapy is based on the extracts of Vedas, Upanishads and the Yogshastra and is been very successfully utilized to treat many different types of ailments since past 80 years. ``Our Late Great Grandfather Vaidya Yashwant Paranjape who was then popularly known as Swami Sauvedanand Saraswati developed this completely indigenous and effective herbal therapy of treatment with the deep study of Ayurveda and Rugveda. We plan to create awareness about the therapy amongst the common people during our yearlong awareness campaigns this year on the occasion of our Great Grandfather's 120th birth anniversary'', Dr. Paranjape added. Elaborating the features of the Sanjeevan Prakrutik Chikitsa Dr. Prasanna Paranjape another Director of the Sanjeevan Herbal Research Institute said that this side-effect less therapy works on the basic principle of making the natural defense system body stronger while treating the ailments that helps in the complete removal of the ailment rather than a temporary relief. The medicine used in this therapy utilizes 14 different types of natural herbs, which are easily available. This makes the cost of treatment very affordable as the time and effort required in growing the rare herbs is saved, Dr. Paranjape stated. He pointed out that the herbs used in the medicine are grown in a completely natural environment and away from pollution as the battle for survival makes their medicinal properties much better, which is not found in intentionally planted herbs. Thus the effectiveness of medicines increases. The medicines are the alcoholic extracts of the herbs, which are then quoted on the small sugar balls and dried in sunlight, so that the sunlight removes the alcohol leaving the medicines in the sugar balls. The traditional skill of Nadi Pariksha used in Ayurveda is applied for the perfect diagnosis of the ailment. This helps in preventing the cost incurred on conducting various tests for the diagnosis. The Sanjeevan Prakrutik Chikitsa has been proved to be very effective on cancer, heart diseases, and kidney problems. Disorders like hernia, ulcer, appendicitis, and cataract in which generally the surgery needs to be done are also been effectively treated by this therapy. Application of Sanjeevan Prakrutik Chikitsa on chronic diseases like blood pressure, diabetes and asthma has been proved to be fruitful.
