Posing as an AIDS patient and his relatives, a seven-member team, led by the assistant drugs controller (intelligence) raided the premises of Fair Pharma, Kochi, which allegedly sells Ayurvedic formulations as AIDS cure drugs and seized incriminating documents relating to the export of the drugs. However, T.A. Majeed, who owns the company, was not arrested. Assistant drugs controller (intelligence) M P George conducted the raid at Fair Pharma. Majeed had claimed that he had developed a drug for AIDS cure. Documents relating to the export of the drug, named 'CFX Cure' and pamphlets in Hindi, English and Malayalam were also seized. The team also seized some prescriptions given by Majeed from some of the HIV patients. Majeed had at first advertised the AIDS cure drug as 'Immuno QR', which could also be used for mental retardation, migraine, cholesterol and also bypass surgery. Following several petitions in the Kerala High Court, pointing at the spurious nature of the drugs, the Kerala High Court had cancelled the licence of Fair Pharma, and that decision had subsequently been upheld by the Supreme Court. The apex court had also restrained Majeed from manufacturing any other drug also and advertising them. However, police sources said 'Immuno QR' was now being sold under the brand name 'CFX Cure'.
