Bangalore-based export oriented unit, Strides Arcolabs has nominated Dr. Francis Pinto as the new board member. He replaces John Cheesmond representing Schroder Venture Life Sciences Advisers (UK) Ltd who has resigned from the Board.
Dr. Pinto is a physician with over 35 years experience in Healthcare, including senior assignments with leading multinationals in Asia, Europe and America. He is a specialist in alliances, strategy, turnarounds and new product development. He has served on the advisory board of the Health Policy and has set up a major non-profit foundation in Goa, India.
Dr. Pinto was formerly a CEO of Nicholas Primal India Limited (NPIL) and was instrumental in NPIL's rapid growth during his tenure. He was also on Board of Directors of Glaxo, UK and has held important positions in Bristol Myers Squibb Inc, Pfizer Inc. and Abbott Laboratories Inc. He is currently chairman & managing director of Pharming, a biotech company based in Netherlands and US and the chairman of Princeton Healthcare, Xandev Foundation – UK.
