Kanchi Kamakoti Childs Trust Hospital, a leading multi discipline tertiary hospital based in Chennai, has teamed up with the Chennai Wellingdon Corporate Foundation for setting up a Centre for Preventive Perinatology. The first ever dedicated centre will be commissioned in two months time.
The Chennai Wellingdon Corporate Foundation has agreed to contribute Rs.55 lakhs for importing all the equipments. The centre would network with various centres and institutes in the field and take up research for identifying the causes for defects and handicaps and offer effective solution. The centre would also formulate easily applicable and transferable Gold Standards of perinatal care.
The centre will also come up with an affordable and workable plan for reducing prenatal morbidity at the national level.
