IMT announces job vacancies for senior scientists

The Institute of Microbial Technology (IMTECH), Chandigarh a constituent establishment of the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), has announced 20 job vacancies for senior scientists. The institute has invited expertise in the areas like bioinformatics, X-ray crystallography/structural biology, chemical sciences, human genetics, molecular biology, fermentation, biochemical engineering, taxonomy etc to join the team for carrying out scientific and industrial research of national importance. The mandate of the Institute is to provide (i) an integrated research, development and design base, for microbial technology, (ii) to undertake, basic and applied research and development programmes in established and newly emerging areas of biotechnology including genetic engineering, (iii) to develop and maintain gene pool resources and genetic stocks of microbial cultures and other cell lines and (iv) to impart training in microbiology, microbial technology and biochemical engineering to research workers. The institute has informed that that applications for the job should reach them latest by 20.7.2003.
