When the N K Group of companies was set up in 1988, the founders would probably not have dreamt that their small pharma engineering unit, begun with a mere investment of Rs 10,000 would go on to consolidate the wide areas of pharmaceutical business under its roof, someday. This reality has been shaped by the young generation which is leading the company today, who have sparked an envious growth in the machinery manufacturing, marketing and consultancy but also with a state- of-art bulk and formulation production facility. One of the leading pharmaceutical machinery manufacturers, the Ahmedabad-based company currently caters for over 12 overseas markets offering a wide range of products such as injectable powder, dry syrup and liquid lines. "This was possible only because of our total commitment towards quality and services and of course, the vision what we inherited from our founders," says Darshan N Mevada, the 25-year old director. "We have been in the pharma market for the last 30 years, during which we have received an overwhelming response from all our valued customers. We decided to enter into a new venture in the field of injectable formulation plant as per WHO standards with a capacity of 21 lakhs vials per month. The project has already been commenced and in full swing," he said. He adds that the company has always believed in total quality towards customer intimacy and their success has largely been achieved through their services which are based on the right expertise, integrity and impartially. Currently, the core services of NK include manufacturing and monitoring activities of pharmaceutical range of machineries. "These services", according to Mevada, "are designed to facilitate safe, rapid and efficient transaction of goods and increased safety and long-term reliability of our equipments to prevent the disruption of delivery and production schedules for our customers." "We have recently launched a new scheme of providing a specialised service to our customers, engineers and operators. In order to provide a wide range of quality services covering a large variety of our products, we maintain a large work force of well qualified, trained and experienced people," says Darshan Mevada. In the recent past the company has innovated over 12 new models in the pharmaceutical machinery sector with an objective to offer maximum possible range of our products. In the formulation segment, the company presently has 10 branded and 5 generic products mainly in the antibiotic injectable segment.
