Child Relief and You (CRY), a non-profit organisation working for child rights in India, and Pfizer India, announced a total contribution of approximately Rs. 9 lakh raised through the 'Get Health, Give Health' cause-related marketing programme. This six-month programme was launched on December 1, 2002. Pfizer India donated this amount based on the sales of Protinex during this period. The funds raised from this program would be used to meet the healthcare needs of 8000 less-privileged children for a year. Commenting on the partnership, Pervin Varma, Chief Executive Officer, CRY said: "CRY's dream for children was born out of the belief that every individual and organisation has the potential to transform this unjust situation simply by joining hands and sharing of themselves. This partnership is therefore valuable to us as it reinforces this belief. But more importantly through partnerships like these, our children are reassured that they are not alone. That no matter what the circumstances, there are organisations willing to stand by them and protect their rights." K.G. Ananthakrishnan, Senior Director, Pharmaceuticals, Pfizer India said: "With this partnership we hope to make some difference to the lives of these 8000 children. Besides, developing some of the world's best know medicines, Pfizer in India has always been working on community initiatives that help people lead a healthier life."
