Kopran enters Ayurvedic medicine segment

Mumbai-based Kopran Ltd will be entering the Ayurvedic medicine market segment with the launch of three novel formulations Klix STR (sore throat reliever), Klix ODC (oro-dental cream) and Klix MUG (mouth ulcer gel). Klix STR is a novel triple action sore throat reliever based on the ‘gargle and gulp’ concept. It contains eight well-proven Ayurvedic ingredients for prompt relief and healing through local, systemic and vapour action. Klix ODC contains 4 well-documented Ayurvedic medicines for complete care of the oral cavity and is used as an adjuvant after tooth extraction, root canal and orthodentic procedures. Klix MUG is a dual action mouth ulcer gel containing seven well-proven Ayurvedic ingredients for prompt relief from burning pain and rapid healing of mouth ulcers. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), as much as 80 per cent of the world’s population currently relies on traditional medicines. In India, the herbal drug market is estimated to be around US $ 1 million and export of plant based crude drugs is around $ 80 million. Herbal medicines are also marketed as nutraceuticals (health foods), whose current market is estimated at about $ 80-250 billion in US and Europe.
