Corimbia Inc announced Children's National Medical Center, a leading children's research center in muscular degenerative diseases, has selected its gene expression quality assessment software platform, Probe Profiler, to automatically generate expression values using multiple statistical approaches. Probe Profiler will allow CNMC to automate and optimize its data analysis using methodology specific to biological conditions. This improves biological relevance of the results and increases efficiency and consistency in the data analysis pipeline. Probe Profiler implements and manages the multiple statistical algorithms CNMC uses to generate signal values, and reports on RNA, chip and probe quality. The system will support CNMC's large database of publicly available Affymetrix data in lung biology and disease, disease pathogenesis of muscle and nerve, and spinal cord injuries. "We have been focusing on developing downstream analysis methodologies to analyze our data and a solution that handled the upstream elements of signal generation and quality assessment was needed," said Dr. Eric Hoffman, Director of Genetic Medicine Research. "The strength of the solution and Corimbia's expertise in Affymetrix gene expression signal and data analysis made the selection of Probe Profiler an easy choice." Probe Profiler generates alternative Affymetrix GeneChip signal values and assesses data quality at scan and gene levels. Corimbia will modify Probe Profiler to automatically analyze data using multiple signal processing approaches in a web enabled Java-based environment.
