Prathista Industries to set up GMP standard pilot plant facilities with an investment of Rs.5cr

Prathista Industries Ltd. (PIL) based in Nalgonda District of Andhra Pradesh has been sanctioned funds by ICICI Bank under World Bank 'SPREAD' programme to set up general purpose GMP standard pilot plant facilities. The facilities may be used for development of any drug, after successful upgradation of process protocols of Regional Research Labs, the company's technical collaborator. The company is expecting to invest Rs. 5 crore to create state-of-the-art pilot scale facilities mainly consisting of fermentors from 25 litres to 5000 litres capacity supported with down steam process equipment like evaporators, drying equipment etc. Prathista Industries is also upgrading their existing R & D facilities with state of the art instrumentation equipment, generally useful for testing purposes, as part of its total investment. PIL desires to convert these pilot scale facilities as nodal agencies in future for technology upgradation from lab scale to pilot scale facilities, useful for upcoming biotech companies in India. Prathista Industries is established and promoted by technocrats and is financially supported by Technology Development Board, Department of Science & Technology, Government of India and other banks like SBI and Andhra Bank. The company is collaborating with R&D labs & Universities in implementing and commercializing indigenously developed technologies. Presently the company is engaged in manufacturing and marketing of plant growth promoters, microbial bio-fertilisers and bio-control agents, protein hydrolysates, gluconic acid, calcium gluconate, sodium gluconate and other salts of gluconic acid. The R&D centre is jointly promoted by PIL and Department of Scientific and Industrial Research (DSIR).
