Neon, Emcure, Unique, J&J wins Sri Lanka award

Neon, Emcure, Unique, Johnson & Johnson walked away with awards at the Sixth suppliers' convention 2003 of the State Pharmaceutical Corporation, held at Club Palm Bay Hotel - Marawila. The Chief Guest was the Sri Lankan Minister of Health, Nutrition & Welfare - P. Dayaratna. Best Supplier award was given to Neon Exports - India, First Runner-up to P T Otsuka - Indonesia and Second Runner-up to Strides Arco Lab Limited - India. Merit awards were given to Unique Labs - India, Johnson & Johnson - India, P T Kalbe Pharma - Indonesia and Emcure Pharmaceuticals - India. The programme consisted of two sessions. In the morning session, there were six presentations on various topics. The evening session included a Cultural Show, Fashion Show and was followed by fellowship and dinner. Valuable lectures were delivered by Sri Lankan lecturers on Drug Regulations in Sri Lanka, Generic Pharmaceutical Market and Retail Pharmacy Market in Sri Lanka etc. Presentations were also made by Indian lecturers to share their experiences. There were local and foreign suppliers who participated in the convention. All participants experienced a healthy interaction. "They also enjoyed pleasant climate and attractive locations in Marawila, Sri Lanka. The interaction between SPC and the suppliers is hopeful of ensuring supply of quality medicines and other healthcare products at a reasonable cost in the future," said the authorities at the function.
