The Pune chapter of TiE –The Indus Entrepreneurs – is organising a one day tech show called "Life Sciences and Frontiers of New Technologies" in Pune at Symbiosis College of Management on November14, 2003.
Pratima Kirloskar, President, TiE, Pune Chapter, said, “As a follow up to the show we had last year on ‘New drug discovery in cancer and the next step forward’, we are organising this tech show. The show aims to put practicing doctors, pharma companies and scientists on one platform for the free exchange of ideas.’’
The show would provide a platform to the Pune scientists to talk about their research, its commercial viability and the companies that could use their research. The show would also unveil the potential that the city has in research activities and the institutional support that Pune can offer in various research activities.
The show would not only serve as dais for showcasing indigenous technologies but also for the overseas technologies such as from Israel and Scandinavia. To name some of the few technologies - tissue regeneration, gene sequencing, molecules for cure of ovarian cancer, thyroidism, low cost ayurvedic treatment for AIDS, low cost enhancement of vision in low vision patients, drug discovery software and molecules on the rack, bone grafting, wound healing techniques (using Ayurveda) and so forth.
