A.P. ENT & Dental Research Foundation, established by Dr Janaki Ram Reddy and his family, has opened its new ENT care centre and research institute, Sree Srinivasa ENT Care & Research Institute (SECRI), at Hyderabad. The Foundation will soon set up a separate Dental Hospital as well in the city.
The new ENT hospital is equipped with facilities to conduct radio frequency surgery, micro ear surgery for deafness, discharging ear, facial nerve paralysis and dizziness, endoscopic sinus surgery, micro laryngeal surgery, phono surgery for voice disorders, surgery for snoring, head & neck surgery, cancer surgery and speech therapy. The hospital would also have an allergy and headache clinic, vertigo clinic, sleep lab, audiology, clinical lab, and X-ray and ECG facilities.
Dr. Janaki Ram told Pharmabiz that the seven-bed hospital, set up with an investment of Rs.80 lakhs on medical equipment alone, would mainly offer services on day-care basis. The hospital is also to lay emphasis on research with focus on Otology. It will study the reasons for certain patients responding well to surgeries and others failing to do so, reasons for deafness, effect of deafness on becoming dumb, and procedures for eradication of deafness. He said that seeing the requirement, a new hospital might be set up within a year.
