Our Bureau, HyderabadTuesday, December 2, 2003, 08:00 Hrs  [IST]

Andhra Non Resident Indian Services Health Care (India) has floated a new venture namely Dr Samay's Home Care Diagnostic Services at Hyderabad. The new venture is going to start a unique service 'Diagnostics at the doorstep', which it claimed to be the first such service in the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad. Patients at times may need diagnostic care at their homes. In cases where a patient is paralytic, disabled, aged, or lacks a caretaker and in certain ailments, where the pain and trauma could be further aggravated while commuting to the diagnostic center, this service can prove helpful. It will be useful for pregnant women too. "While helping the patient by reaching out to them, we wouldn't be compromising on quality standards. We are equipped to provide the best services at the minimum standard charges," says, Sharada Suresh, MD, Dr. Samay Home Care. A dedicated telephone number, 33223344 is arranged, which can be used by patients in case of need. On receipt of a telephone call, a van equipped with necessary sample collection kit, ECG and manned by trained personnel will visit the patient. The lab will be functional round the clock and seven days a week, and uses vacutainers for the convenience of the patients. The collected sample is diagnosed at the lab, which is equipped with all modern diagnostic facilities. The reports are delivered in person to the patient at his home. In addition to this, the diagnostic results are displayed on a website created by the center (www.homecarediagnosticservices.com) and will be maintained on the site for a period of six months. Each patient is given a separate 'Id', through which the patient or his relatives can access the diagnostic results, even staying away from the city. The additional services such as transportation of van and maintenance of diagnostic results of a patient in the portal are offered free of cost. The center is also planning to deliver medicines to patients at their doorsteps, for a minimum order upto Rs.200. ANRIS Healthcare (India) has been in diagnostic services for over five years and has experience in home care. Once the new venture gets successful, the center plans to spread its wings to other metros in southern India.
