Satish W Wagh, managing partner, Supriya Chemicals, Mumbai has replaced Ajay Kadakia as the chairman of Basic Chemicals, Pharmaceuticals, Cosmetics Export Promotion Council (Chemexcil) for a two-year term. The council meeting held in Mumbai yesterday has also announced changes in other key posts as well.
The Drugs Panel of the council is to be chaired by Lalit Jain, Pharmchem, New Delhi. The regional chairman (North) continues to be SC Jindal, it is learnt. It has also been confirmed that the new regional chairman for Hyderabad is to be Anil Katyal of Nester Pharmaceuticals Ltd. The chairman of the herbal panel of the council is to be finalized this week.
Chemexcil has been set up by the Union Ministry of Commerce to promote the export of drugs and pharmaceuticals, dyes, chemicals, cosmetics and toiletries, medicinal plants, ayurvedic medicines and agarbattis.
