To celebrate the golden jubilee of All India Ophthalmological Society’s (AIOS) scientific publication--Indian Journal of Ophthalmology, APJ Abdul Kalam, President of India, released the special commemorative postal cover in a grand function at LV Prasad Eye Institute (LVPEI), Hyderabad on January 19, 2004.
SS Barnala, governor of Andhra Pradesh, Thirunavukkarasu, minister of state for Telecommunications, TS Govindrajan, chief post master general, Andhra Pradesh were also present. Current Editor of the Journal, Dr Taraprasad Das from LVPEI, Dr HK Tewari, president of AIOS, Dr RV Azad, hony general secretary and Dr KPS Malik, chairman, academic and research committee also graced the function.
