In a bid to offer plastic surgery facilities at affordable charges, Dr B Swain, plastic surgeon at Apollo Hospitals, Hyderabad has set up a Plastic Surgery Foundation, ‘Aakaar Asha’ in collaboration with Apollo Hospitals.
The foundation will provide plastic surgery facilities to patients, at charges 25 per cent less than the normal charges. It will also establish a network with the NGOs working for public health across the country to enable the facilities get utilized by even rural people.
The special emphasis would be on face and limb deformities, arising out of increasing number of accidents. The foundation was formally inaugurated by Surjit Singh Barnala, governor of AP on Saturday last week.
