Hyderabad based Institute for Technology and Management, in association with the Federation of Andhra Pradesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FAPCCI) and Bulk Drugs Manufacturers Association of Andhra Pradesh organised a national seminar on pharma marketing. Over hundred industry representatives attended the meet.
Several prominent people from the industry spoke on the occasion. Dr BK Chakravarthy, chairman of Capic Labs spoke on 'Indian Pharmaceutical Industry-Where are we Heading to?' Subba Rao, former vice president of Consultant Enhance spoke on WTO impact and the Indian pharmaceutical industry. Anuradha Acharya, CEO of Ocimum Bio Solutions spoke on 'Leveraging information technology'. SK Dash, general manager of Biolgoical E Ltd spoke on 'Role of information technology in pharma marketing.
The full day seminar concluded with a case study of one of the successful products from Dr Reddy's Labs. Speaking on leveraging brands, Shanker Das from Dr Reddy's explained a success story of one of their brands 'OMEZ', an anti-ulcer drug.
The seminar concluded on a cautious note that tough days are ahead for the Indian pharma industry post-2005.
