IIT Bombay ChEA oragnises symposium on biotechnology

The Chemical Engineering Association (ChEA), IIT Bombay is organizing their biggest event in the calendar, ChEA Symposium on “Biotechnology: A New Dimension To Chemical Engineering” on March 13, 2004. The symposium will highlight three important aspects in its three sessions such as (1): Biotechnology takes center stage, (2): Intellectual Property Rights & Regulations in Biotechnology (3): Biotechnology, A futuristic science. The ChEA Symposium, which will emphasize the need for closer academia-industry interaction and discuss the role of Chemical Engineers in the field of Biotechnology, will have eminent speakers including Satish Velankar, director, business development, Lupin Ltd., Dr. Dhananjay Patankar: Head, Biotech Division, Indus Biotherapeutics, Dr. Prabuddha Ganguli, advisor, Vision-IPR, Dr. H. K. Varma, Scientist-in-charge, Biomedical Division, SCTIMST, Dr. Surekha Zingde, deputy director, ACTREC and Dr. Jayant Udgaonkar, Dean, Faculty, NCBS. The ChEA IIT Bombay, in its existence for over last 3 decades, has organized a spectrum of events, which have been well received by the industry and the academia. ChEA has had the privilege of having a nationwide audience from academia, national laboratories and industry and the financial support of corporate houses during the entire tenure of its existence.
