Madras Medical Mission hospital signs MoU with Tanzanian govt for treating nationals

The Chennai based Madras Medical Mission (MMM) hospital and the Government of Tanzania has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to treat patients from Tanzania at the MMM hospital. The MoU was signed between K.V.George, secretary, MMM and M.J.Mwaffisi, permanent secretary, the United Republic of Tanzania, at a function held in Chennai on Friday, said a communication from MMM. As per the agreement, MMM would treat patients for various diseases, especially cardiac and cardio-vascular diseases, kidney, liver transplantation, infertility management, gynecology etc. The MoU envisages a plan of referring patients to MMM for advanced medical care, besides a follow up and feedback mechanism. MMM would help the Tanzanian Health Ministry to prepare a training programme for doctors and other paramedical staff in that country by providing specialists from MMM, both in India and on site in Tanzania. So far MMM has offered specialized treatment to 216 adults and 232 children with pediatric complaints from Tanzania for various diseases and surgeries with a success rate of 99 per cent. The Tanzanian Government was impressed with the performance of the hospital, and chose MMM as its most preferred partner in India as an official delegation from Tanzania visited various hospitals in the region. MMM has so far treated over 3000 foreign nationals from as many as 26 countries, said the release.
