Rajah Muthiah Medical College hospital to add cancer, trauma care centres

The Raja Muthiah Medical College Hospital of the Annamalai University, at Chidambaram near Chennai, will soon offer cancer treatment facilities and a trauma care centre as part of its expansion plans. The proposed cancer treatment facility will have specialists for consultation, besides advanced cancer treatment facilities and diagnostic equipments in tune to the latest developments in cancer care. The trauma care centre, a special accident treatment wing with full-fledged facilities of medical teams and necessary paraphernalia, will come up in the Chidambaram – Cuddalore Highway, according to a hospital press release. The 1010-bedded hospital, functioning since 1985, currently has departments like pediatrics, surgery, neurology, dermatology, diabetes, ENT, cardiology, plastic surgery, TB etc. The hospital has 24-hour laboratory services to carry out blood tests, ECG, X-Ray, CT Scan and other equipments to conduct tests, said the release.
