Suven’s net profit up by 28 per cent

Suven Life Sciences Ltd achieved better performance during the year ended March 2004. Its net profit increased by 27.8 per cent to Rs 7.19 crore. Its total income moved up by 10 per cent to Rs 51.72 crore from Rs 46.60 crore in the previous year, despite 36.4 per cent reduction in income during the fourth quarter ended March 2004. Income for the fourth quarter declined to Rs 10.96 crore from Rs 17.22 crore in the corresponding period of last year. The export revenue in the current year registered a growth of 13 per cent touching Rs 35.14 crore compared to Rs 31.03 crore in the previous year. The company’s continuous thrust on research and development right from drug discovery to manufacturing has been proved by its R&D expenditure, amounting to Rs 10.59 crore, constituting 20.41 per cent of the total income. During the year, the company’s shares face value of Rs 10 each was subdivided into face value of Rs 2 each.
