Maxfair launches a range of ayurvedic products

The Nashik-based Maxfair Drugs and Cosmetics, an ayurvedic formulations manufacturer, has launched a range of ayurvedic products in the AP market. The products have been launched in various potential markets of the country already. The company has launched 'Diabenol' for non insulin dependent Diabetes Mellitus, 'Damanil' for Asthma, Chronic bronchitis, Whooping Cough and Respiratory disorders, 'Jointpen' for Rheumatoid arthritis, Osteo arthritis and other painful conditions, 'Nefrostone' for kidney stone removal and other renal disorders, 'Normotens' for management of mild or moderate hypertension and various mental and psychological disorders, 'Pilogen' for internal and external haemrroids and 'Baazigar' for sexual dysfunction. Addressing a press conference at Hyderabad, Ranjan Mohapatra, managing director, said that the initial launch of the products was in Nagpur in August last year and there was an overwhelming response from various parts of the country. Mohapatra said "the Indian system of medicine does not require any further evidence to substantiate its efficacy since they are well documented in the great treatise such as Charak Samhita, Sushrit Samhita, Astanga Granthabali and Anubhoot Yoga which by themselves are 2000 years old". The company is confident of achieving its targeted sales turnover of Rs 20 crore during the fiscal 2004-05, he said. More products for acidity, allergic cough and cold, cardio care and obesity would be introduced in May, 2004, he added. The company has a manufacturing facility at Champa in Chhattisgarh.
