Mediciti Hospitals launches health plan covering pre-existing illnesses

Hyderabad-based Mediciti Hospitals has launched health plan with a coverage of pre-existing illnesses. The scheme is being offered in association with the National Insurance Company and Pune based MD India Health Care, a TPA. According to the hospital sources, the scheme is unique as it covers existing illnesses and other diseases that one can have. However, these existing illnesses will not be covered for the first six months of becoming member of the plan. The premium for the scheme is put at Rs 430 per annum and the sum assured will be Rs 25,000 at the minimum and Rs 2,00,000 at the maximum. It also offers a benefit of floater policy, which entails either one or all of the family members to utilize the insured amount of the treatment. It is a cashless policy. The policy- holders can walk in and walk out with the treatment without making payment up to the limit of their sum assured. The insurance plan covers everything except organ transplants, joint replacements, chronic renal failure, cost of pace maker, alcoholic sclerosis, HIV/AIDS and also conditions / complications arising out of these diseases.
