The Andhra Pradesh Drugs Control Administration has released a fresh list of offenders who have been convicted for dealing with spurious and misbranded drugs.
The Judicial First Class Magistrate Court, Jonnalagadda has convicted B Nagabhushanam, managing director, Sterline Pharmaceuticals Pvt Ltd for manufacturing Mixyme Tonic (NSQ) bearing batch number MX-168 and Stervit Syrup (NSQ) bearing batch number SV-115. Nagabhushanam has been convicted with simple imprisonment and a fine of Rs 5000 towards each case, for violation of Drugs and Cosmetics Act, 1940 and rules made there under, Ranga Rao, joint director, AP DCA informed.
In another case, the Judicial First Class Magistrate Court, Mahaboobnagar has pronounced on Sudhakar Shetty, for dealing with spurious and misbranded drugs, one year imprisonment and a fine of Rs 6500. D Ananda Kumar of KNR Medical Agencies has been pronounced to undergo one year imprisonment and a fine of Rs 6500 and D Kollyappa of Aditya Medical and General Stores to undergo one year imprisonment and a fine of Rs 6000 for stocking spurious and misbranded drugs.
Gayatri Devi, proprietor of Eswar Meditech ,Vijayawada, AP has been convicted by III Municif Magistrate Court of Vijayawada for violation of D & C Act with a fine of Rs 4000.
The Judicial First Class Magistrate Court, Nandyal has convicted Unisul Private Limited, Sonepat, Haryana for over pricing of Ampiclox Capsules with imprisonment till the arising of court and a fine of Rs 5000.
Nebulae Healthcare Limited has been convicted by the Judicial First Class Magistrate Court, Venkatagiri for objectionable labeling/advertisement. Nebulae is to pay fine of Rs 5000. In a different case, the IV MM Court, Nampally (Hyderabad) has convicted Hamdard (Waqf) Laboratories, New Delhi for objectionable labeling / advertisement and is to pay Rs 6000.
In other case, Gopala Krishna, managing director of PCA and Company, Peridepi, Prakasham District (AP) has been convicted by the Judicial First Class Magistrate Court (Suryapet) for objectionable labeling/advertisement, with a fine of Rs 5000. And V Narayana Maitriya of Gowtami Rasayana Shala (Bapatla, AP) has been convicted by the same Court on the same grounds and pronounced to pay a fine of Rs 5000.
