The inaugural presentation of Interphex Asia closed with considerable success with representation from key international suppliers, industry regulators and professionals from both multinational and regional pharmaceutical manufacturers in the Asia Pacific region. Part of the worldwide Interphex family of events, Interphex Asia is a unique event dedicated to the pharmaceutical manufacturing industry in the Asia-Pacific region.
Interphex Asia 2004 occupied a total area of 3,300 sq.m. with the participation of 105 international exhibiting companies from 14 countries. The 3-day exhibition showcased a wide variety of equipment, products and services related to the pharmaceutical manufacturing process, a technology forum where product presentations were held hourly as well as a live demonstration line for the production and packaging of ointment/creams/lotions.
Interphex Asia attracted some 2,000 pharmaceutical manufacturing professionals and industry regulators from 30 countries including Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, India, Australia and the United States. The event was met with enthusiasm as visitors welcomed the opportunity to see, touch and feel the equipment and products on display including a glass-lined reactor, centrifuges, mixer/dryer, containment isolator and clean room sterilisers.
Interphex Asia garnered positive feedback from exhibitors and visitors alike. Leading the Singapore Pavilion, Ms Janice Kwok, Senior Director of Industry Group Division, Singapore Manufacturers' Federation (SMa) commented, "Taking into account that this is a new show, SMa is encouraged by the good response from local and foreign exhibitors taking part in Interphex Asia. We look forward to the growth of Interphex Asia as the premier pharmaceutical manufacturing event for Asia Pacific, and reaching similar proportions to its established sister show, Interphex USA."
Interphex Asia also incorporated the annual ISPE Singapore Conference, jointly organised by Reed Exhibitions and ISPE since 2000. The 2004 Conference featured industry professionals, including the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the Australian Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA), covering key issues relating to API, Secondary and Biotech manufacturing through a comprehensive programme of 8 workshops and 9 industry tracks.
Bringing together international suppliers, industry professionals and regulators - from the multinationals to the regional manufacturers - in the Asia-Pacific region, Interphex Asia is the platform for the pharmaceutical manufacturing industry to meet, exchange ideas and keep abreast of industry developments.
Interphex Asia 2005 and the ISPE Singapore Conference 2005 will be held in Singapore from 19-21 April at SUNTEC Singapore.
