Environment studies of Pharma City completed

The Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) studies of Ramky Pharma City, under development at Parawada, 33 km from Visakhapatnam have been completed. The Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) report has been submitted to the Andhra Pradesh Pollution Control Board at Visakhapatnam for the award of 'Consent for Establishment'. However, in principle clearance has already been obtained from APPCB for the Pharma City. This step will also involve public hearing. Many activities are being carried out simultaneously in order to enable industries to start production by second quarter of the year 2005, informed Dr KSM Rao, managing director of Ramky Pharma City (India). The first set of development activity in the park is to set up the basic requirement of power, water, common effluent treatment plant, hazardous waste disposal facility, marine outfall and roads which will enable the industries to start production, an official release said.
