Beacon Bioscience Inc has launched the second generation of its pioneering imaging project management solution, Alerion, according to a company release. Alerion is part of a technology platform guiding pharmaceutical and biotech companies through imaging research for accelerated development of new cancer drugs and other medical products. Beacon's Alerion is a web-based, data management platform for imaging clinical trials that integrates medical images, clinical documents and statistical analysis datasets. Medical imaging is gaining increasing favour in drug development for oncology, and other therapeutic areas, because of in-depth insights into the disease process, accelerated timelines and the sizeable cost savings imaging affords. Alerion is structured to accurately and efficiently manage the huge sums of delicate data involved in imaging. The system affords the greatest flexibility and reliability to its users who can quickly mine integrated information to unlock the value of a data rich environment, the company claims. "Alerion will give our clients a 'real-time' window into the process and analysis of their data, transforming information into knowledge," says Beacon CEO and co-founder, Ted Gastineau. Beacon Bioscience Inc is a Medical Imaging CRO providing core lab services to pharmaceutical, biotech and life science clients.
