Strand Genomics inks pact with Kurabo for distribution of Avadis in Japan

Strand Genomics, the Bangalore-based life sciences informatics company, has entered into a distribution deal with Kurabo Industries for its product Avadis, a data mining technique for micro array gene expression data analysis, for Japanese market. Avadis combines scalable analytical algorithms with powerful and interactive visualization to derive valuable insights from the data. The product can access, visualize and analyze gene expression data. It has the ability to seamlessly access and import data from various sources. Further the product is designed to have easy to use wizards to import Affymetrix files including from GCOS. Wizards are also available to support data from spotted arrays. It also provides a range of clustering techniques and statistical tests that make up the complete analysis toolset. It is available in three editions known as explorer, prophetic and pride. Dr Toyokazu Nishino, director, Kurabo Industries Ltd stated that Japanese researchers are looking forward to use Avadis which is a powerful data analysis software for gene expression analysis using micro array.
