Rajinder Kumar appointed as head of R&D at Ranbaxy

Ranbaxy has appointed Dr. Rajinder Kumar as head of Research & Development, effective July 05, 2004. Dr. Rajinder Kumar will report directly to Dr. Brian W Tempest, CEO & managing director, Ranbaxy Laboratories Limited, a company release said. Dr. Rajinder Kumar, a British national, pursued a very successful career with GlaxoSmithKline (GSK), UK, where he was the global head of Psychiatry - Clinical Research & Development. Prior to this, Dr. Kumar was vice president & director - Neurosciences & GI at GSK, based in the USA & UK. Dr. Kumar is a graduate from University of London, University of Birmingham and University of Dundee, UK, from where he holds a degree in Medicine and Surgery (MBChB) and a postgraduate qualification in Psychological Medicine from The Royal College of Surgeons and Physicians, Ireland. He is an accomplished professional with around two decades of academic, clinical and industry experience both in Clinical Pharmacology and late stage drug development.
