IISWBM, Helix Genomics step into academic collaboration

The Indian Institute of Social Welfare and Business Management (IISWBM-Kolkata), an established institute of repute for Technical & Management Education, has entered into a Five Year Exclusive Academic License Agreement with Helix Genomics Pvt. Ltd (HELIX-Hyderabad) for using Biological Operating System (BOS) Version 1.0. Prof Ashoke K Dutta, director, IISWBM commented that such relationships between the industry and institute will be of mutual benefit. The industry can add value to the academic learning at the institutes and in return benefit from the vast pool of trained manpower and resources available. This licensing agreement would benefit the students and research community at IISWBM and assist the faculty in bioinformatics teaching, training and research projects, according to Mohan RK Nimmagadda, director & chief executive officer, Helix. Further commenting on BOS Version 1.0, he said BOS is first of its kind among the existing biological software's and is unique in being the higher-level user friendly Object Oriented Biological Programming Environment (O2-BPE). BOS has been developed by team of young entrepreneurs for the past six years and patents applications are filed and pending in United States and European Union. Helix is a Bio-computational research based company focused on providing services in biological research and analysis.
